Celebrating Pratt’s Printmaking History

Celebrating Pratt’s Printmaking History

Please join us at the Pratt Institute Archives for a presentation and discussion celebrating Pratt’s printmaking history and the Pratt Graphics Center.  This event is part of New York Archives Week 2019.

The Pratt Graphics Center was a world-renowned printmaking hub that was in operation from 1956 through 1986. It offered courses, lectures, and exhibitions on the graphic arts, and hosted guest artists from around the world. Recently, the Pratt Fine Arts Department collaborated with the Pratt Institute Archives on an exhibition that featured archival materials. During this event, exhibition curators, Caitlin Riordan (Printmaking Technician and Visiting Instructor) and Grayson Cox (Adjunt Associate Professor), will join Pratt archivists, Cristina Fontánez Rodríguez (Virginia Thoren and Institute Archivist) and Rebecca Pou (Archivist), to discuss the Pratt Graphics Center as well as our recent interdepartmental collaborations and how the Archives and its staff can support efforts to preserve institutional memory across campus. Attendees will also have a chance to view ephemera, publications, and photographs from the Archives.

Please RSVP to archives-library@pratt.edu. Registration is limited to 25 attendees.
